March 16 – SOLD OUT – Manufacturing Consent: Japanese Style Ropework for Assault, Capture and Coercion

February 11, 2008 at 3:42 am (class, general)

This date was SOLD OUT

Sometimes, your partner surrenders to you in sweet submission. Sometimes… she (or he) does not, and you have to make them… yummy.

This is a class about using Japanese style rope bondage techniques for abduction scenarios, takedowns, and
forced positions. We will discuss roleplay scenarios involving date-rape, incest, and assaults by “strangers.” Through it all we will show how to always play with these “hot buttons” within a framework of respect and trust.

The psychology is complex, but the ties are easy! Join us early for an optional technical introduction to the only two knots you will need for the later class, and stay afterwards for optional practice and coaching. Coffee, bagels, cookies, and juice to help get and keep everyone going!

This class has space for 5 couples of any gender. We are asking that partners are comfortable being rrrough with each-other in a semi-public setting — bottoms should be “OK” being manhandled by their tops. Bottoms need to wear form-fitting but supple clothing, or nothing at all. Tight long johns and leotards are good, baggy t-shirts and boxers are bad, corsets and jeans are verboten. Tops should avoid wearing things that can catch and rip.

I’ll be teaching the class primarily for couples who do not switch, but couples who do want to switch during the class may do so.

I will provide comfortable floor pads, but you may want to bring your own towel or yoga mat as well. The studio has a big gas heater that works well. Please bring 3×25′ lengths of 6mm (1/4″) natural fiber rope. (Hemp/jute, silk, cotton.) Rope kits will be for sale at the class – $75 for 3×25′ of hand-conditioned hemp. Do not bring synthetic fiber rope.
